IMEGA Hires PR Group
The Interactive Media Entertainment and Gaming Association (IMEGA) has announced that it has hired the high-powered and internationally respected Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide.
The non-profit lobby group has hired the New York-based public relations firm in order to keep the pressure on during IMEGA’s determined legal action against the US Government over the validity and Constitutional propriety of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA).
The two sides are set to meet again in a New Jersey Federal Court on Monday for another hearing and IMEGA hopes that, by highlighting the adverse effects on the United States, it may persuade American politicians in both parties to consider supporting anti-UIGEA legislative proposals such as Barney Frank's Internet Gambling Regulation Enforcement Act (IGREA). IMEGA has already highlighted UIGEA’s faults in cases such as the World Trade Organisation debacle, with the trade group seeing it as an assault on Constitutional rights.
Ogilvy has more than 60 bureaus around the world including major hubs in London, Paris, Madrid and Dubai along with offices in key locations such as Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney and Singapore. It also operates offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Connecticut, New York, Sacramento, San Francisco and Washington, DC.
